Pulling up to the line

So the search continued. Zillow ever hour, refresh…refresh…refresh again.

Instead of 1.5+ baths, we’ll make due if it only has 1. Instead of a minimum of 10 acres, we can manage on 8, maybe even 5? There were a couple but they all looked like we were going to be sinking money into the ground like that scene from The NeverEnding Story.

But there was this one… it had been flipped (I had drawn that line in the sand, we absolutely were not going to be buying a house that someone bought for $2 and a snickers, slapped some paint it and then all of a sudden its worth half a mill. I think not!) But here I was, I kept coming back to this tiny house on 5 acres. There was weird wood panels on the walls, and it was tiny tiny. Nothing like what my husband had hoped for. But I kept seeing it.

So we called up our realtor and made ourselves a trip down the highway, up a mountainside and pulled into a little driveway with some pretty orange lilies blooming on the front porch. The whole hillside was overgrown with weeds and tiny trees. And there was this goofy lizard toy sitting on the banister of the back porch. We couldnt help but laugh.

Inside smelled like fresh milled wood, the 2 bedrooms were barely going to fit a queen sized bed, the bathroom was ugly and there were propane heaters sticking out of the wall. Oh boy.
